A penny earned is a penny saved. Why should big business have one more dollar of mine that necessary? A few phone calls can lower interest rates with credit cards, and even lower your electric bill. I did that last week.

I called my electric company and told them I wanted the rate they were offering on that day. They complied. Look on your electric bill under supply services, you will see your provider listed with the telephone number. They get your money from the electric company for the electricity supplied. My rate was 0.094 x the kWh, the going rate was .084. They changed it, and my bill will be lower next month. I do not expect a big decrease, but any is better than none, and certainly better than paying more. This rate will not change for 6 months, then I will call again if it goes up.
