How to identify good stocks

Posted on September 20, 2009 by Nayab Naseer

The key to identify god stocks worth investing in the long term takes some painstaking research and due diligence.

One way to identify shares with good prospects is to check whether the management of the company is sound. The competence of the management and the way in which it behaves or conducts its affairs with the investors money is a sure indicator of the long term success or failure of the business.

Another way is to look into the fact whether the company’ results are consistent over a period of time. A company with rather erratic results, or whose financial performance has received a sudden boost just before a public offering of shares spell trouble fof the investor.

A third way of ascertaining good stocks is considering the debt equity ratio. Companies with a low debt and that reinvestment some of its profits to the growth of the business would usually provide good returns for the investor.
