As you all knew, buying a printer is cheap on the market now, but what about the ink? A pair of ink, such as black color, and multi – color ink cartridge might end up with over $60. So, if you are frequent user of printer, which mean you have a lot of document to print out, or a lot of color photos you plan to print, you might eat up the ink cartridge pretty fast, and it ending up cost you a lot of spending on it.

HP – Hewlett packard is the major supplier of printer in the market. They would rather make less or zero dollar from the printer they make, and earn all the money money back from the ink cartridge they sell. The maintenance fee for ink is high, and it is the biggest market for them. They might follow the similar business model from the Gillet Shaver. Gillet Shaver might not make any money from the razor they sell, but they make money majorly from the blade.

In other hand, Kodak has improved the printer quality they made on the recent years. They rather make money from the printer, with higher price, and less money from the ink. So, if you buy a $150 printer from kodak, the ink cartridge might not cost over $60. In a long run, that is what is the best for our penny pincher users here.
