You might already read the recent news about the S&P downgrade U.S. credit rating from AAA to AA +. Such downgrading fact might leave a ding on The United States future borrowing power, and its standing on credibility among other super powers in the world. All of the sudden, it seems our reputation just going down, and the stock market instantly plummet according to such news broadcasted worldwide. Unemployment rate is rising up again; investors are worrying about their money whether or not will get return; and banks are suspicious about people borrowing money and would they be capable of paying it back. All such factors affect our national’s healthy economy, and most people might afraid the second recession might come.

If you are optimistic enough, such news might not be so bad at all. Just think about it, 10 years ago, you might not be able to afford a house with its high price in the market. All of sudden, you have enough money to pay for one with all of you hard earn savings. Also, in the interest rate of your mortgage, you might got 7.0% – 8.0% 10 years ago, now, you can get it below 4.0%. Also, if you are applying for refinance, it is the best time to do so. Since the interest rate is so low, and it is offered by the banks right now. Maybe the recession is not a good news to the economy overall, but to some of us, it might not be so bad at all.

In other Streetster news, gold reached a record high on Tuesday, rising past the high mark of $1500 per ounce. This is yet another sign of the tremendous anxiety that is affecting the market. People just don’t know where to turn, and it’s clear that things are going to get a lot worse before they get better. In times of financial insecurity, we are forced to adapt many of our plans. A lot of people seem to think that the end of the world is coming soon, and that’s apparently why they’re buying so much gold, driving up prices. I think that attitude is probably a bit drastic, but I can certainly understand why people might be feeling less than hopeful in the current financial and political environment. September 11, 2001 really was a turning point for the United States, and I think that it was the beginning of a new kind of country. We are living in a country that is facing a tremendous decline, and I want to do everything I can to stop it. Will you join me? First of all, in order to start the healing process, we have to convince people that there’s a problem to begin with. Based on how naturally hopeful people are, that’s not always easy.

In Wall Street news, wounded giant IBM has announced a first quarter profit that is up 10% from last year. We can’t help the efforts of this company to make good after letting the home PC market slip through their fingers. I wish that IBM had made better choices. Remember back in the day, when the words IBM and PC naturally went together? Well, that was an awfully long time ago. And I hope that other companies are going to learn the lesson of IBM’s fall from grace in the home computing business. No matter how powerful your market share, you’re going to have to fall eventually. Even powerhouse Microsoft, in spite of the Machiavellian backroom deals that have kept them on top for so long, may be headed for some serious troubles. I can’t say when, but I believe that Microsoft well eventually find itself adrift, and without hope. Their software has certainly improved since the 1990s, but I’m still not entirely happy with the company, or their shady business practices. I wish that more of these giant, monolithic companies would be held accountable for their lack of empathy with the common working people. Consumers should not be treated like beta testers.

Here is my ultimate question in regarding to illegal immigrants which also play an important part of our economy as a whole. As you already knew from the news broadcasting, and newspaper, Arizona state tighten its immigration law toward the illegal immigrants. The local businesses, especially restaurants are sliding down the hill. The average lost on economy as whole will be measured in millions of dollars. Would that be a vivid examples for other states too?

In Georgia State, from prediction of local politics, a lot of people have mixed feeling toward this immigration law. Some pro toward it, because of cheap labor, and abundant of available day labors around the areas, some businesses were forced to be out of it, due to these group of immigrants. On the other side, some businesses, such as cleaning businesses, and janitorial or agriculture at the Southern States, they required this group of people to do the work, while the Black and White Americans unwilling to work at such menial labor work. Such controversial argument will be the toughest choice for the local government in Georgia.

As a whole, if the law passed within in Georgia, the economy definitely will be affected. Businesses such as grocery stores, Wal – Mart, even apartment complexes will be lost these groups of customers. Will the Sales tax be affected too?

I guess in the near future, immigrants who is not born within the United States soil will be exceeded the number of who nature born within the United States. That is the fact, and we have to accept it. Maybe the correct way to say it will be non – white will be exceed the number of white America. As you can see recently our presidential election, Barak Obama elected to the first president of The United States, who is none-white too. This will predict the future of our nation as a whole. Non – white immigrants might have a fair chance to work on politics. We will have a voice to sound out of wishes, our thoughts, and our ideas to other people. If there is an unfair fight, either in politics, in our society, we should be able to justify our actions with our reasons. Not because we are not white, or we are belonging to a specific race.

Also, as you can see, majority of huge company CEO are white America. If we are willing to work hard, and we are willing to learn and correct our mistakes. We should be able to propel ourselves to be better, not only CEO in a company, we can achieve anything we want within our dreams.

Recently Arizona tighten up its immigration law, and strictly enforced the illegal immigrants living within Arizona state. The matter really concern a lot of factors, one of major factor will be economy locally. They probably losing some millions of dollars due to this tightened law enforcement. Many foreigners unwilling to travel there, and they lose workers for certain industry that White or Black Americans unwilling to do too.

Now, the same reason facing within Georgia State. One of major income coming from tourism. If they follow the shoe of Arizona, would that affect the tourism sector? That is one of the major issue if they enforced the immigration law. Because there will be millions of Mexican or other Hispanic illegal immigrants staying in Georgia here. Would people from other countries unwilling to come to Georgia, especially the Spanish – Speaking countries tourists? Also, Agriculture is one of major industries in Georgia. And agriculture employ majority of Mexicans or other Hispanic workers to work on the field. If they are gone, who is going to work on the field for the day? Certainly, local white Americans unwilling to take over this job. Economically, will this move really affect our local economy and other industry also. Like constructions, and housing market too?

Christmas just over, and we all feel extra generous during the holidays, such as Christmas and New Years. We might considering giving something out to help out some people who might need extra help, and we might feel somewhat better to see those people have food in their tables, and get warm against the cold winter. But our generosity might be used by those people who might take advantage of. Because they knew that, majority of us have a good heart to give, so, it will be a perfect opportunity to rip us off without guard.

During the Christmas time, those scamsters might pretend to be some sort of charities, and knock on your door, or send those solicitation mail to your mailbox asking for donations to help the poor. Usually, we just won’t even consider the fact whether they are legitimate or not, we simply write a check, or give out the cash. Those impostors might especially target at senior citizens. In order for us to make sure our money is sent to help the persons we intended to, we should do our work. Why not start off to call the charities organization yourself, or check online charitynavigator.com, or give.org to find out the organizations they claim to be. In that way, you just make sure your hard – earned money won’t send to the wrong people.

Social security tax is inevitable for everyone who is eligible to work, and have to be deducted from their paycheck as part of the tax. We paying this tax for 2 reasons. 1 is for the situation when you temporarily out of work, and the unemployment insurance would cover for your daily expenses for a little while. 2. when you are retired, you will have something to in return as part of your early investment. And you will get your investment back month by month until the day you die. That is the purpose of social security in my understanding. But the question is, will social security continue forever, and this plan will work?

According to many economist calculation, social security will not continue forever, and sooner, it will not cover up the entire population of United States in the near future. So, 401k will be the alternative choice. Unless I knew that for me, it won’t help me at all, but I am still investing my tax money into it to help the people who are reached their retiring age now. So, it is pretty much similar to those people so – called Ponzi Scheme. A Ponzi scheme will only pay for those people who get in first, because they are the earlies investors, and in order to convince the other to still injecting money into the project, they have to satisfy the earlier investors, so the good word will spread around. At the end, those late investors always get nothing in return. They will lost on their investment. This pretty much similar to social security now. At the end, our investment will get nothing on us, right?

It was a bit of controversy over some famous retail chain stores do justify their acts of wasting. Due to difficulties in our economic situation recently, many people becomes unemployed, or facing default on mortgage problem. Many families even without a home to live. Should we do our good will to contribute some unwanted clothing or goods to charity, so these families or children might have something to wear in return?

In the recent scandals, H&M, an European fashion retain chain stores, was accused by many that they waste most of their unsold clothing at the back of its alleyway. If you are not familiar with H&M, it is a Swedish company run retail – chain stores which for sale fashionable clothing for all age of people. They are popular with great price and affordable deal. According to the recent report, H&M was spotted at New York, some of its unsold clothing was slashed, and cut to pieces, and dumped to the dumpster when it was still in good condition. Some people might think that is the waste of our resources. Some people can use them for good purpose, especially the charity organization. Since there were many people without good clothings. Or send them to the third world country to do some good deed. It would be a classic example for our other famous retail chain stores too. They don’t have to waste all the good stuff, even though they are unsold. They can send them to help out others.

From my point of view, we as American, has tendency to waste our natural resources at all costs. We should understand how to reuse them or make it in good purpose, other than waste it.

In the past, customers might have file a complaint against those big companies for unsatisfactory service or products. More than likely, those companies would deny that accusation, and continue to work on the same way. Because they are big, and they have professional Public relation department to handle every single scandals and botch on their reputation. Some consumers feel useless to pursue the matter further, so they given it up easily. Nowadays, the phenomenon is about to change. Because the proliferation of computer and social networking sites are so popular among users, communications become one of the biggest weapons for us to use against those huge corporation companies.

Musician Dave Carrol had a bad experience with United airline during a flight; they broke his guitar, and denied that was their wrongdoing. Mr. Carrol wrote a song and publish it on youtube to fight for his right, and demand United to take responsibility. This act forces United to take responsibility and official apologize for their wrongdoing.
Another example is a couple who wants to take honeymoon to foreign country, and they have bad experience with Expedia. After the credit card companies denied their responsibility, and won’t cooperate with that couple. They wrote blog and communicate their bad experience with online friends on facebook, and twitters. This act also force expedia to recognize this matter seriously, and they agree to on responsibility further.

So,
